Lamont Carey; I Can't Read!

                                             
              I chose this poem by Lamont Carey because it has a powerful meaning. He's saying that he can't read and can't write but yet, his teachers are still passing him because he is a basketball scholar. He planned on taking his family out of the ghetto by being the star that he was. Until one day, he was dribbling down the court and got injured. His dreams then just shattered into a million pieces. He is now asking us that without knowing how to read, write, and not being able to run anymore due to his injuries, what are his options?
